The Villa is one of the main historical and environmental sites in the area. The complex is made up of the villa itself, which has now been transformed into a museum and the splendid botanical garden that surrounds it and extends ffor almost 2 km along the lake shore.

Castello di Vezio

It is an ancient military outpost of early medieval origin built by the Lombard Queen Teodolinda. It is surrounded by one of northernmost olive groves in the world and its dungeons are can be visited.

This elegant, romantic 18th century mansion and its magnificent garden have hosted writers, scholars and explorers, including Count Guido Monzino, the last owner of the Villa. The Villa can be reached on foot or by taxi boat from Lido di Lenno. Reservation is highly recommended.

The bustling town of Como offers plenty of activities, from shopping silk and brands to food tours or enjoying a nice walk along the lake. Take the funicular up to Brunate to enjoy the best view of the city.

It is a pleasant 10 km long hike with plenty to see on the way in each season. Passing through the towns of Colonno, Sala Comacina, Ossuccio, Lenno, Mezzegra, Tremezzo and Griante, walkers will find something to explore on each stretch of this path.

About us

We travelled for 5 weeks throughout Italy and Villa Gina was the best accommodation we had, in the best village. Loved absolutely everything! Firstly the location is an easy little stroll for the centre of the village. The information including photo instructions to enter the gate and house were extremely helpful. The wow factor of a very tastefully renovated and decorated large 3 bedroom house, with spectacular views, was very much appreciated. So pleased to discover a variety of coffee, condiments, toilet paper, soaps and shampoo, as other places we’ve stayed promised but didn’t deliver! The bed was super comfortable with beautiful memory foam pillows and great quality linen. The best bathroom with a 180degree view of the lake and snow capped mountains, I’ve ever seen. Games, books and Netflix added to a very homely stay. Thankyou Villa Gina. There was absolutely nothing we didn’t like about Villa Gina, other than having to leave!

It was a perfect 3 nights stay and we will absolutely return. The property is located within 5 minutes from the train station and a 10 minute walk from the ferry connecting you to other towns around the lake. There are two floors and three separate bedrooms. The kitchen is fully equipped, two full bathrooms and a washing machine! There is also a garden with tanning bed and plenty of privacy. We were met at a time of arrival to obtain the keys and give us information about the property.

A modern comfortable villa, close to everything, but in a quiet location. The location was amazing - lake views from every room, even the upstairs bathroom! Outdoor gardens and patios (facing Lake Como) were beautiful, interior spaces completely modernized and very comfortable. The hosts were friendly, helpful, and quickly responsive. The 5 minute walk from train station (although, it is uphill) and 10 minutes from center of town - convenient to the action, but quiet. We hope to stay again. It truly is a Villa!

Lovely stay with fantastic lake views in a beautifully renovated family villa. Fabulous views of Lake Como. Very spacious and well appointed apartment. 10 mins walk to the ferry and Varenna centre. Private car parking. Great communication and information from the hosts.
